Andrea Scott – Artistic Director
Andrea is an actor, director, theatre maker and Artistic Director of Floating World Productions
Andrea likes to keep busy, and when she’s not working with the Floating World she can be found immersed in other projects. She holds an MA in Theatre Directing from UCD, a Licentiate Diploma from the Leinster School of Music & Drama and trained in Suzuki, Viewpoints and creative collaboration with Anne Bogart’s SITI Company in New York.
In 2013 Andrea has been honored to have worked as Production Manager with director and movement specialist Kellie Hughes on UCD’s Performance Project ‘A Crucial Week in the Life of a Grocer’s Assistant’. She also worked as a Design Co-ordinator and Production Manager on ‘The Dinner Party – not just a Dublin coddle’ for Tallaght Community Arts. A wonderful performance dinner event that invited guests to debate the issues that artists with disabilities face.
For ABSOLUT Fringe Festival 2012 Andrea co-created and performed in ‘oh look, hummingbirds’, a co-production with Bluepatch Productions.
Andrea conceived, produced and co-ordinated ‘picturing the SOUL’ – a multi-disciplinary event in the Back Loft including over 20 artists, live performances, films, video art, installation and music. The event took place in The Back Loft in February 2012. More information on this project can be found at: http://www.picturingthesoul.wordpress.com
