UCD Performance Project

 

The UCD Performance Project is part of the University College Dublin curriculum where students are taught by our team of professional practitioners and introduced to rehearsal methods and acting techniques. Floating World are thrilled to be a part of this ever changing project; where we direct and develop the students abilities–enabling them to take on the role of actor, director, choreographer, designer, costume designer, and stage management.
Methodologies of devising for performance and /or improvisation, along with practical application of relevant key practitioners in the field of performance, are tested in the module. Students will also be introduced to different techniques of lighting and sound for performance. The performance project is structured to include bi-weekly sessions over a six-seven week period and culminates in an intensive two-week (full time) period of rehearsals in Spring, leading to a fully staged performance.
